A Brief Community History

Our community is known for "Keeping it Country." This tradition began in the 1940s when the first permanent residents arrived to our area. Most of these residents arrived from the Plano area after they discovered our area's beautiful rural character and peaceful surroundings. Many of these residents decided to incorporate our community into a village in 1958.

Interest in our area's homes for sale increased during the 1960s after Plano and McKinney-area residents discovered our area's proximity to the Metroplex's largest employers. This interest continues to grow as more Metroplex-area residents discover the value of our area's country setting, our reasonable living costs and our fantastic schools.
